Claessens 166 is a Belgian linen with an acrylic (universal) primer, making it suitable for both acrylic and oil painting. It features a medium-fine, even weave, offering a balanced tooth that provides excellent paint grip without overpowering detail. This surface is ideal for figurative work, landscapes, still life, and expressive realism, supporting brushwork, layering, and moderate impasto. The universal ground allows artists flexibility while maintaining a responsive and durable surface.
